Published Work & Reveiws
When I started out exhibiting in the 1980s, Computer Graphic Imaging was a new medium. People knew little about what the future of this tool would hold. Photographers were worried it would replace them. Many people questioned the tool because of it's difference (at the time) of what you would see and create on the screen versus what would be printed out (which differed a lot back then). As prints neared the look of visuals being created on the screen, curators wondered about the longeivity of the prints. Eventually people like Jon Cone came along and developed Archival Ink sets for Digital Printers and paper manufacturs developed archival papers that would work accurately with the inks set and last a very long time as well.
I experimented with creating installations that would show these images with light behind them as they were seen on the screen or worked within the limitations of the tools of the time by making 3-dimensional collages.(see my page on light boxes as well as the vintage art page).
